Have you had your kitchen wood cabinets for years and want to restore them to their original condition? You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on new cabinets to give your kitchen a stunning new look. If your cabinets are in good shape we can restore them. Painting kitchen cabinets is not an easy process. There are many different processes used to accomplish a high quality cabinet painting and we assure you that we will use the best process for your cabinets.

OUR PROCESS:

PREPARATION:

Masking and covering of floors, appliance and walls with tape to prevent paint drips and spills.

We remove all cabinet doors, drawers, as well as hardware, and hinges. We take the doors and drawers to our shop. Wash the front and the back of the doors and the drawer fronts to remove grease, and then stick tape in the hinge holes or where the hinges attach to keep out the paint.

Second, we fix scratches, holes, and dings with spackling compound. Later, we fill in holes from handles and hardware in case that you’re replacing the hardware and need holes in different places.

Some cabinets have a catalyzed lacquer finish that’s very hard. Primer won’t form a good bond to this surface unless we scuff it up first. We lightly sand the doors and cabinet frames, trim, and sides with sandpaper. We will sand just enough to take off the shine. Then, vacuum the dust off the wood and wipe down the doors and frames with a tack cloth.

PRIME

We first apply a stain-killing primer (Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore Satin primer.) If you have doors with coarse wood grain (like oak), we’ll achieve a smooth finish by filling in the grain with spackling compound. We will wait for it to dry to later sand it with medium-grit sandpaper, then prime.

Once the primer is dry lightly, our specialists will sand the doors and cabinets with sandpaper to remove any marks.

PAINTING

  • Apply one layer of paint to the cabinets. We will let the paint dry overnight.

  • Then give the cabinets a second coat and let it dry overnight again.

  • Once it is dry will return and clean up and removal the covered area.

  • Lastly we will reinstall the all cabinet doors and drawers, hardware and hinges.
